Some Exciting Stuff Today
Well I’m happy to make the first post on the new web address. Turns out its pretty hard to snag a decent domain these days. I was able to reclaim http://icarter.com for my personal website again, and that’s going back into a design stage. I won’t lie, I’m a horrible website designer, so it’ll probably be a little while before I get it back up, but once I do I encourage everyone to check out my writing work.
Alright on to the day’s events. This morning was fairly eventful, I managed to show up an hour early because I didn’t know what time I was supposed to come in, so I killed a little time and ate some breakfast. The morning goes by pretty slowly and we start to get a few vehicles in, and all of a sudden we get a phone call. The manager over the tire shop takes the call and after about 20 minutes he gets off the phone with this weird look on his face. He asked the other guy that was working with us this morning what happened during the day on Sunday. The guy wasn’t sure what he was talking about, so our manager told us that he just spent 20 minutes on the phone listening to this woman just flat out cry the whole time about how we mistreated her and destroyed her car, and how we refused to help her and slammed the door in her face and whatnot. Anyways come to find out she had came up to Sam’s Club to get her battery tested to see if it was any good. Turns out her battery was not good, and after further testing, her alternator was bad as well. The guys that helped her out were very helpful, she didn’t have to wait around for service, or anything of that nature. The guy that tested her battery and alternator told her that both were bad and that she needed to take it to a mechanic shop and to not turn off her car until she either got home or to the mechanic shop. She decided to go to HEB “a grocery store” and turn off her car to get gas, and surprise surprise, her car did not restart. She ended up blaming everything on us and said that we messed up her alternator and battery, and that she should be reimbursed for both, as well as the towing fee the she incurred from having her car towed to a mechanic. After two managers refusing to reimburse her, the general manager of the club decided the best course of action would be to reimburse her for the towing fee to make her happy. The ole customer is always right theory, citing that she would have eventually called our home office and we would have gotten in trouble for not taking care of the customer. Long story short, some woman got her way, and now that she has gotten her way, she can go on with her life thinking that she was completely right. Sad world isn’t it?
Towards the end of the day today I found myself having to make a decision. I was walking out in our parking lot and found $60 laying on the ground. I stuck it in my pocket and started to wrestle with the idea of what I should do with it. I could keep it, be $60 richer, and no one would have ever known, or, I could turn it in, knowing full well that I would never see it again. I was raised by certain ethics, morals, and standards, and taught several basic things. You should never steal, cheat someone, or be dishonest, and if you find something that is not yours, such as money or a wallet, you should turn it in, as you found it. In the end I ended up turning it in, so I guess I did the right thing in the end. But here is a point of discussion, in such a case, should the money be turned in, or kept, why and why not? I’d like to hear some opinions on the subject.
That’s all for the day, I should be back tomorrow with something juicy for everyone to sink their teeth in to, until then.
Some Inspiration
When I was fourteen I was falling fast
For a blue eyed girl in my homeroom class
Trying to find the courage to ask her out
Was like trying to get oil from a waterspout
What she would have said I can’t say
I never did ask and she moved away
But I learned something from my blue eyed girl
Sink or swim you gotta give it a whirl
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don’t worry about what you don’t know
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
The longer I live the more I believe
You do have to give if you wanna recieve
There’s a time to listen, a time to talk
And you might have to crawl even after you walk
Had sure things blow up in my face
Seen the longshot, win the race
Been knocked down by the slamming door
Picked myself up and came back for more
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don’t worry about what you don’t know
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don’t worry about what you don’t know
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don’t worry about what you don’t know
Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Life’s a dance
Life’s a dance
Life’s a dance
Take a chance on love
Life’s a dance
You learn as you go
Lil’ Bush
Well I got my cable hooked up today while they were out here repairing my internet. Decided on a whim that I’d like to watch tv so I went ahead and had it hooked up. I started out by watching Terminator 3, and after that was over, I changed the channel to Comedy Central and watched Lil’ Bush. Now this is my first time watching this show, and I have to say that I find it hard to grasp the words needed to describe this show. It was hilarious, no doubt about that. Further from it being funny, I just can’t find the words needed to describe how I felt about the show. It seemed like a very left-winged show that was full of propaganda. It was a good attempt at satire I’d have to say, but otherwise the only thing this show is good for, are for a couple of laughs.
I see it as this, you can take it one of two ways. You can take it seriously, as most liberals will, or you can take it for what it truly is, a comedy show that is good for some laughs, but nothing else.
The Rapping Marine

I first heard about this guy on foxnews.com and different people had different things to say about him. Some praised him for speaking out against the war and our government, some said he was a disgrace to the uniform. The bad thing is, the group of people that are in the two aforementioned groups, are complete idiots. They have absolutely no idea what this guy was talking about. That’s whats wrong with society today, is that no one listens and comprehends, and that we are being overran by idiots in this country. This guy wasn’t speaking out against the war in Iraq, he wasn’t speaking out against the government, nor was he being disrespectful to the marine corp. This marine spoke of what america is about, what we stand for, and what we do to defend it, and I applaud him for that. Though I do believe he did a piss poor job of “rapping” it.
What Is Wrong With People?
I got this little news clip from foxnews.com, I hope that this dude goes to prison for a very long time. This was just completely uncalled for, and people like this don’t deserve a place in society.
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A 41-year-old man stormed a beauty salon and bludgeoned four grandmothers with a hammer, fracturing one’s skull, before making off with less than $90, police said.
Thomas Leyshon III, of Mountain Top, was arrested after a daylong manhunt Friday.
The women, aged 56 to 76, did not resist but were beaten anyway, witnesses said. At least one required surgery.
“It takes a coward to go after some old women,” said Andy Chopka, grandson of victim Jeanna Chopka.
Authorities allege Leyshon attacked a co-owner of Hairem Family Hair and Nail Care while demanding money from the register and the women’s purses.
“This is a completely senseless act of brutality against women who were doing nothing more than spending a day at the beauty parlor,” prosecutor David Lupas said. “These are … the most vulnerable of victims.”
Leyshon was being held Saturday on $100,000 bail. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
The victims were treated at hospitals for head and facial injuries.
