Treff’s Bar in Waco,Tx
This is for the locals, and anyone else that might stumble into Waco and decide to go to some bars.
Last night was my first time going to Treffs, my friends kept telling me I needed to go sometime, so we all decided to go last night. We get there and decide to go upstairs to where the band is. My buddy buys my first beer and we go stand and listen to the band, the place is so small there’s not enough seats, so be prepared to stand up when you go. Anyways we finish our beers and I offer to get the next beers since my buddy for the first ones. I head up to the bar, its pretty crowded, and they have 4 people working behind the bar. After a couple people leave I manage to push my way up to the bar. I’m standing there for 2-3 mins before one of the bartenders looks in my direction. I start to try and order my drinks and a guy standing behind me starts yelling out something too, the bartender takes his order and completely ignores me.
There’s a guy sitting next to me and I say something to him about it, and he says “yeah the service here sucks, I’ve been trying to close out my tab to leave for the past 20 mins” and this guy has been sitting at the bar the whole time. Another 5 or so mins goes by and a bartender comes back by and brings him his debit card and his slip to sign. I try to get the guys attention and he ignores me and starts helping other people a little ways on down the bar. By this time I’m getting irritated. I wait a couple mins longer and manage to grab the attention of one of the guys behind the bar and start to yell out my drink order, and he looks at me and tells me that he can’t help me, and then he goes back to what he was doing. Man I was pissed, so I pulled out a $20 bill and started waving it at the bartenders as they walked back and forth. In total, a good 20-25 mins went by while I was standing there trying to get a beer. I gave up, I did everything short of cussing one of the bartenders to get their attention. I was so mad I turned around and yelled “screw this place, if they won’t wait on me they won’t ever get a dime of my damn money, I’m not ever coming here again”. So I walked off and met up with my friends and we ended up leaving pretty quickly.
So if you ever decide to go to Treffs, pass on it because the service sucks, there’s hardly any place to sit, and its crowded as hell. I’ll never go back, I’d rather spend my money at Georges or Clicks where people will work their ass off to make sure you’re constantly waited on.
