Beyond The Broken Spectrum

I haven’t been on here in a while. I guess I’ve just been busy with other things. The college life is in full swing and I’m always preoccupied with something. Today I got the new magazine that I subscribed to, and I thought I’d post a little something up here and get things moving again.

I got my new issue of High Times today. I had spent about 3 hours at a books-a-million a couple of weeks ago and needless to say, I did a lot of reading. If you’ve ever been to a book-a-million, you’ve seen the massive magazine section they have in the back of the store. They’ve got just about anything you’d like to read, and believe me, there’s a lot of stuff.

I read all of the baseball and football magazines, all of the Men’s magazines, hunting and outdoors, I even read some tattoo magazines. Nothing else really catches my eye until I stumble across a High Times magazine. Never read it before, so I thought I’d check it out. Playboy really surprised me with the articles that they have when I first started reading those magazines, so I figured that maybe High Times would have something of interest as well.

Come to find out, they’ve got some interesting articles in there. They have some fun and interesting facts, as well as some good interviews with people. There isn’t much creativity to the magazine though. No short stories or interesting fiction. There isn’t much on world events either. It would be a much better magazine if it had some of these things added to its content. Overall though, it’s a magazine worth a read each month. You would think the magazine caters solely to people who smoke marijuana, but its an enjoyable read for just about anyone. I’d recommend at least getting one issue and taking it home and reading it.
