Wizard of Oz to show in theaters for 70th Anniversary
The Wizard of Oz premiered in theaters back in 1939, the first movie produced in technicolor. Most of us around today never got the chance to see the epic movie when it came out in theaters. On November 17th, a Tuesday, for one day only people will have the chance to go see it play at a local movie theater in celebration of the movie’s 70th anniversary.
It won’t be the original film we’re accustomed to seeing on TV, but the new and improved Wizard of Oz, reformatted and in high-definition. I’m sure some people will likely be turned off by that aspect, due to wanting to see the movie in its original format. Most will be happy to get the chance to go see the movie though, as nothing has actually changed with the movie itself when it comes to scenes, music, and lines.
Not every movie theater will be participating in this special occassion, but not to worry, there is likely a movie theater somewhere close to where you live that will be showing the movie. You can check this website and enter your zipcode to find out which theaters around your area will be showing the movie.

You know what the Wizard of Oz is about, right? I mean you know who the Oz represents, right? The Oz is the Federal Reserve. The Yellow Brick Road represents the path to go back to the Gold Standard (or commodity-based currency). We learned this in Economics. Econ is my undergraduate degree. It’s about the 19th century debate regarding Fiat Money vs. Commodity Money (or “Sound money”): http://bigpicture.typepad.com/comments/2006/01/gold_the_wizard.html
